Ah Hood grew up in a kampong during the uncertain period of struggles and hardships in pre-indepedence Singapore and had to leave school early as a result. Nonetheless, he did not let illiteracy falter him. 

With the blessings of his mother, Ah Hood decided to venture on his own and henceforth started NPH Auto Service in 1988. 

Today, Ah Hood is able to communicate fluently in Mandarin, Dialects, conversational Bahasa Melayu and even manages unsophisticated English. But it is also this genuity and rawness that has attracted return customers, building a loyal customer base over the years – many of whom he is now friends with.

When Ah Hood is not at work, he is always on the look-out for novel body kits/ accessories to “zhng” up his current ride.
